Belot brings plenty of color, character and sharp humour to her latest single “Cool Whip.” The track explores a much darker relationship dynamic, someone using gifts, flowers and grand gestures to hide repeated bad behavior and infidelity. That contrast is what makes the song so enjoyable. The artist surrounds the story with vibrant vocals and glittering sound, creating a playful atmosphere that makes the underlying message hit even harder. Her delivery is packed with personality, giving the song an off-kilter charm that feels completely natural to her.
