VC Pines delivers a new single, “Colours,” a smooth and hazy new single that shows exactly why his sound has become so distinctive. His soulful vocals glide through an amazing production, creating the feeling of a late-night confession that perhaps should never have been made. The song follows a familiar but painfully human situation, a drunken phone call to an ex, the regret that follows, and the frustrating knowledge that the same mistake may happen again. What could easily become an awkward story feels strangely luxurious in the hands of the artist. His blend of indie, R&B, and soul gives the track a warm and seductive quality, making even the messiest emotions sound effortlessly cool.
