Major Pink’s “Love Me Loud” wastes no time in declaring itself as something intentionally bold, unconventional and hard to fit neatly in a box. Centered on a huge electronic sound, the track weaves through colors, odd turns and leftfield ideas to build an atmosphere that feels undeniably like the artist. The artist takes on the point of view of three different men, using their voices to expose the very different experiences women can have in everyday life, including behavior that is crude and uncomfortable. That tension works beautifully, with inventive production reflecting the track’s difficult subject matter.
