FloodHounds deliver a new single “Psychosemantics,” a dark new single that sees the Yorkshire trio pushing their hard-edged identity to even greater extremes. It is an uncompromising introduction to a band that clearly has little interest in playing it safe. There is a melodic quality here reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys, but FloodHounds strip away the polish and replace it with twisted guitars, and the intensity associated with bands such as cleopatrick. The track feels like controlled chaos, with its explosive instrumentation mirroring the turbulence at the center of its narrative.
