Alice Jayne's “THE HIGH PRIESTESS” which gives Jayne a chance to play out the frustration of being appreciated only when something suddenly becomes unobtainable. That emotional clash gives the track some real bite. The choral textures are especially effective, making the arrangement atmospheric, dramatic and wonderfully immersive. There's a sense of scale here that makes the production feel larger than life, but Jayne's assured presence keeps it all grounded. The High Priestess is fierce without trying to be, polished without losing its personality and refreshingly uncompromising. Alice Jayne also sounds completely in her element now with an intriguing electronic-pop statement that leaves a mark and promises an exciting road ahead.
